Many access this page for rates from the US to foreign countries. As of May 14, 2007, the rates for an airmail letter up to 1 oz is as follows: 69¢ for Canada & Mexico and 90¢ for the rest of the world. As of May 12, 2008, these rates will increase to 72¢ for Canada and Mexico, and 94¢ for the rest of the world. For anything other than that, such as large envelopes or packages, see the USPS calculator. http://ircalc.usps.gov    Or see the USPS home page. http://www.usps.com

The following information should be of interest to those who send US Dollars or DX stamps to DX stations. These charts were compiled mostly from information available on the web, but not all countries make postal information available. The information here is intended as a general guide only, for I cannot guarantee it's accuracy. The most current postage rates and currency exchange rates are provided at the sites listed below.

It should also be noted that banks may add a fee for exchanging foreign currency. Some countries, such as Canada, charge tax for postage. Some countries, such as Australia, have a cheaper card rate. All rates listed here are airmail letter rates. The number of cards that can be sent at these rates will vary from country to country.

Information in the charts below have no mention of IRCs. (International Reply Coupons) I don't use them, except for rare occasions when sending to countries that may not have a dependable postal system and I can't find stamps for those countries. First of all, I don't understand why some claim it takes two for return postage, when it very plainly states on the back of an IRC that one is enough for any country that's a member of the IPU. (International Postal Union) Many postal workers stateside and abroad don't have a clue what they are. Buying them and redeeming them in some places is like pulling teeth. Some live in countries where the nearest post office is 40 or more miles away. I heard from someone in the Philippines who states that Manila is the only city that accepts IRCs. The current price for an IRC is $2 in the US and $3.50 in Canada, and they expire Dec 31, 2009.

Whatever method one uses for return postage is a personal choice and anything stated here about the subject is just my humble opinion. The charts below only list the cost for return postage. Contrary to what some may say, there's still countries that can return your card or letter for $1 or less.
